Overview
FamilyKeeps started with a question. When my father passed away, I asked myself: how am I going to remember him? I had some photos. I remembered certain stories. But it didn’t feel like enough. What I realized was that memories of him were spread across our family. Different people had different photos, videos, and memories. Some of the best stories were never written down. And a lot of what mattered most lived only in people’s heads. We each had pieces—but no one had the full picture. And those pieces weren’t just on our phones. They were in text threads, on old devices, and in boxes of printed photos that had been passed down over time—most of them without any context. That’s when it became clear this isn’t just something that happens once. This is how it works for every family. We capture moments all the time—kids growing up, vacations, holidays, everyday life. But those moments end up scattered across people, places, and time. The stories behind them aren’t captured. And over time, those details fade. FamilyKeeps was built to change that. It gives families one private place to bring everything together—photos, videos, stories, and even voices—so they can be shared, kept, revisited, and passed down. A place to capture the story of your life and your family—and hold onto the memories that make you who you are.
Traction
as reported by the founderFirst version of the product in closed BETA.
This is not a storage problem. It’s a meaning + continuity problem: There is no system designed to preserve the story of a family across people, time, and generations.
FamilyKeeps becomes the system of record for a family’s shared memories. As families contribute photos, stories, and context over time, the data becomes deeply personal and irreplaceable. The product becomes more valuable as more family members participate, creating strong network effects, emotional switching costs, and long-term retention.
FamilyKeeps operates in a large and growing market driven by a universal behavior: capturing and preserving family memories. TAM (Total Addressable Market) Our TAM includes over 1.5 billion families globally who take photos and videos and want to preserve meaningful moments and stories. At an estimated $20–$60 per year per family, this represents a $30B+ market opportunity. SAM (Serviceable Available Market) Our initial focus is on 80–100 million digitally active families in markets like the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia. These families already capture and share photos regularly and are accustomed to paying for digital services, representing a $3B–$4B opportunity. SOM (Serviceable Obtainable Market) Our initial SOM is defined by high-intent user types most likely to adopt early: • Memory Keepers — individuals within families who already take responsibility for capturing and organizing memories • Parents with Young Children — families in a high-frequency memory creation stage • Life Event–Driven Users — those experiencing key moments such as the birth of a child, illness, aging parents, or the loss of a loved one These users have both the motivation and the content to contribute, and they naturally expand usage by inviting other family members—allowing us to grow from a single user into a shared family network over time.

Product roadmap
Memory Finder helps users rediscover meaningful moments from their existing photos and videos and turn them into lasting memories with context. We’ve validated that one of the biggest barriers to engagement is that users feel overwhelmed by the amount of content they already have and don’t know where to start. While families capture thousands of photos and videos, most are never revisited, organized, or turned into meaningful memories. Memory Finder addresses this by surfacing relevant moments using signals like time (e.g., “this day years ago”), people, and life events, and guiding users to add context, stories, and reflections. It transforms passive media into meaningful memories that can be shared, preserved, and connected to the family over time. This reduces friction, helps users get started quickly, and increases the number of meaningful memories captured across the family.
