Overview
Senseye is building a breakthrough diagnostic platform for mental health, starting with PTSD. By leveraging patented computer vision and signal extraction techniques, the platform analyzes disruptions in the sympathetic nervous system through the eyes using an ordinary smartphone. This approach moves away from subjective self-reports and ePROs, offering clinicians a way to personalize care, establish clear baselines, and track patient outcomes over time with objective, brain-based data.
Traction
as reported by the founderThe company has conducted feasibility studies for smartphone-based voice and eye-tracking biomarkers for PTSD, presented at ADAA 2026.
The company addresses the subjectivity and inaccuracy of current mental health assessments, which rely heavily on self-reporting, as well as the lack of objective diagnostic tools that lead to misdiagnosis and long wait times for patients.
The company utilizes fully patented approaches to deep learning and signal extraction that allow for the analysis of the autonomic nervous system via the eyes using standard smartphone hardware.
The company notes that 6% of the population will experience PTSD at some point in their lives, with 19 million cases in the U.S. and 465 million worldwide.
Senseye is the first ocular diagnostic tool for mental health
Senseye is building what it positions as the first objective, smartphone-based diagnostic for mental health, starting with PTSD: a roughly 10-minute ocular test that uses computer vision and patented machine learning to read autonomic signals in the eyes rather than self-reports or long clinical interviews. The company is now in a large Phase 3 trial (REVEAL) aimed at an FDA De Novo submission in late 2026, with protocols already reviewed by the FDA, and it claims a growing clinical dataset of more than 300,000 recorded sessions that can be re-analyzed as models improve. That data, plus nine issued patents and about 20 more filings, a planned reimbursement path (~$90 for the initial test and ~$50 for monitoring visits), and operators with Teladoc and FDA device-review backgrounds, is what makes the platform hard to copy and commercially relevant if approval comes through. In short, Senseye is special because it turns an ordinary phone camera into a scalable, brain-based measurement tool for conditions that have historically depended on subjective interviews.
Product roadmap
The company has begun a 2,400-patient Phase 3 study, which they believe will be the largest mental health diagnostics trial conducted to date. Senseye is targeting an FDA De Novo submission in late 2026. The FDA has already reviewed the protocols and confirmed they are aligned with its expectations. Senseye's confidence in regulatory approval is 95% at this point, with FDA alignment. Once the PTSD programming is approved we will move to Anxiety, depression and ADHD programming.
