Overview
GoMeal was born from a problem I experienced personally for years. As a frequent railway passenger traveling between different cities across Bangladesh, I repeatedly observed the same challenge: passengers had very limited access to quality food, hygienic meals, modern convenience products, and reliable retail services while traveling. Like millions of other passengers, I saw people carrying food from home because they did not trust the food available at stations or on trains. During my travels, I began speaking directly with passengers to understand their experiences, frustrations, and expectations. Over time, these conversations evolved into extensive market research across railway stations, train routes, and passenger communities throughout Bangladesh. What became clear was that the problem was much larger than food alone. Bangladesh's railway ecosystem lacked a modern retail infrastructure capable of serving passengers with the convenience, quality, and consistency that consumers experience in countries such as Japan and South Korea. This insight led to the creation of GoMeal. Our vision is not simply to build another food business. We are building a technology-enabled retail infrastructure platform designed specifically for railway and transit environments. By combining centralized production, convenience retail, digital technology, operational intelligence, and future AI-driven optimization, we aim to create a scalable model capable of transforming how millions of passengers access food and retail services every day. Today, GoMeal is focused on launching its pilot operations, validating its business model, and building the foundation for a nationwide network of railway food and convenience stores. Over the long term, we envision GoMeal evolving into a broader consumer infrastructure group encompassing convenience stores, beverage brands, quick-service restaurants, and other retail formats. Our mission is simple: deliver the quality, convenience, and customer experience that Bangladesh's passengers deserve while building one of the country's most scalable consumer infrastructure companies. Our plan for GoMeal consists of four phases to transform the food and travel industry: Phase 1: Establish over 100 live and CVS food supershops in train stations, similar to those in Korea and Japan. Additionally, we will launch our own canned cold coffee beverage. Phase 2: Expand to build more than 1,000 city CVS food supershops across the country, similar to GS25, CU, 7-Eleven, and Emart24. Phase 3: Develop a chain of over 1,000 QRS (Quick Service) restaurants, plus a dedicated coffee section, as a dual-model across the country, akin to KFC or Al Baik and Starbucks or Luckin Coffee. Phase 4: Launch a luxury cruise train inspired by the 7-star Kyushu experience in Japan.

Bangladesh's railway network serves more than 90 million passenger journeys annually, yet passengers continue to face limited access to quality food, hygienic meals, modern convenience retail, and reliable grab-and-go services. Current options are fragmented, inconsistent, and largely disconnected from modern retail standards. GoMeal solves this problem by creating a technology-enabled railway retail infrastructure platform that combines fresh food, beverages, convenience retail, digital ordering, centralized production, and data-driven operations within railway stations. Our objective is to transform railway stations from basic transit points into modern food and convenience hubs that improve passenger experience while creating a scalable commercial ecosystem.
GoMeal's competitive advantage comes from combining multiple elements that are difficult to replicate together. First, we are focused specifically on railway stations and transit environments, a segment that has historically received limited innovation despite serving millions of passengers annually. Rather than operating as a traditional restaurant or food delivery company, GoMeal is building a retail infrastructure platform designed around passenger convenience, speed, and accessibility. Second, our centralized kitchen model allows us to maintain consistent quality, improve food safety, reduce waste, and achieve purchasing efficiencies that are difficult for independent operators to match. Third, GoMeal combines multiple revenue streams—including food, beverages, convenience retail, grab-and-go products, advertising, and future private-label products—within a single operating ecosystem. This creates stronger unit economics and higher revenue potential per location. Technology is also a key differentiator. Over time, GoMeal intends to leverage proprietary operational data and AI-driven forecasting tools to optimize inventory, reduce waste, improve logistics, and better understand customer purchasing behavior. Most importantly, as we expand our network, we will build unique operational knowledge, customer data, supplier relationships, and station partnerships that become increasingly valuable and difficult for competitors to replicate.
TAM (Total Addressable Market) Bangladesh Railway serves approximately 90+ million passenger journeys annually. Including food, beverages, convenience retail, advertising, digital commerce, and future expansion opportunities, GoMeal estimates a Total Addressable Market exceeding USD 2 Billion annually. SAM (Serviceable Available Market) The initial focus includes major railway stations and high-traffic passenger corridors across Bangladesh. This represents an estimated annual market opportunity of approximately USD 300–500 Million. SOM (Serviceable Obtainable Market) Within the first five years, GoMeal aims to capture approximately 3–5% of the addressable railway food and convenience retail market through a network of 75+ stores and supporting infrastructure, representing a potential revenue opportunity of USD 30–50 Million annually.
Our competitors can be grouped into four categories. The first category consists of existing railway catering providers and station food vendors. While these businesses serve railway passengers, they typically offer limited product variety, inconsistent quality, and little technology integration. The second category includes food delivery platforms such as Foodpanda and HungryNaki. These companies focus primarily on urban delivery rather than creating dedicated railway retail infrastructure and therefore serve a different customer need. The third category includes local restaurants and food outlets located near railway stations. While they may offer food options, they generally lack standardized operations, convenience retail offerings, centralized production, and integrated technology systems. The fourth category includes convenience stores and modern retail chains that may expand into transit locations in the future. However, GoMeal's focus on railway infrastructure, central kitchen operations, technology integration, and passenger-specific retail experience positions the company differently from traditional convenience retailers. Our goal is not simply to compete with existing food providers but to create a new category of technology-enabled railway food and convenience retail infrastructure in Bangladesh.
